Sustainability & Certifications.
Being a sustainability-oriented company is an ethical commitment, a moral commitment and a responsibility we are unwilling to compromise.
The journey is anything but simple, as it requires adopting practices aimed at achieving specific environmental, social, and economic standards.
The awareness that natural resources are limited and that safeguarding the planet is a duty toward future generations drives our commitment to researching and selecting the best technologies and raw materials.
Attention to environmental issues has always been an integral part of our corporate culture. Torcitura Padana is particularly mindful of product processing for its impact not only on human health and well-being but also on the environment.
In our yarn production processes, we prioritize the use of:
- Recyclable Materials that can be reintroduced into production at the end of their lifecycle
- GRS Recycled Materials, derived from PES, Nylon, and other fibers, both pre- and post-consumer
- COEX® Technology, included in the list of Oeko-Tex® certified products, ensuring the complete natural quality of fireproof fabrics
Certifications.
Over the years, Torcitura Padana has achieved significant national and international certifications.
We have chosen to invest in eco-sustainability and traceability, achieving the OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certification.
Through this certification, all yarns are tested to ensure the absence of harmful substances. A periodic monitoring system by the authorized National Body ensures ongoing verification of compliance with ecological parameters, which have become essential for all major international brands and for everyone who cares about the health and protection of our planet.
The Global Recycle Standard (GRS) is promoted by Textile Exchange, a non-profit organization that internationally advocates for responsible and sustainable development in the textile sector. With this standard, Textile Exchange acknowledges the crucial importance of recycling for fostering a sustainable production and consumption model. GRS aims to reduce resource consumption (such as virgin raw materials, water, and energy) and to improve the quality of recycled products. All products containing at least 20% pre-consumer and post-consumer recycled materials are eligible for GRS certification.
Torcitura Padana complies with the requirements listed in Article XVII of the REACH Regulation. REACH is a European Union regulation concerning the registration, evaluation, authorization, and restriction of chemicals.
The primary aim of the regulation is to enhance understanding of the hazards and risks posed by chemical substances while simultaneously maintaining and strengthening the competitiveness and innovative capacity of the European chemical industry.
